Austin, TX – April 22, 2013 – Omni Water Solutions, Inc., a provider of highly automated mobile water systems for water treatment and re-use, announced today it has secured $4 million in additional equity from existing investors, led by Austin Ventures, and has added former FTS International CEO, Marc Rowland, to its Board of Directors.
“Our investors strongly support our plan for growth and the new funds will enable Omni to meet the demand we are seeing from customers in the Texas shale plays,” said Warren Sumner, CEO of Omni Water Solutions. “In addition to the funding, we are excited about adding Marc to our board. His global experience in exploration and production and energy services complements our water treatment expertise, and I look forward to working with him to realize the vision we have for Omni.”

Mr. Rowland has spent 35 years in the oil and gas industry and currently manages Infinity Resources, a privately held exploration and production company. He served as the CEO of FTS International, Inc.
“Omni presents a compelling value proposition to oil and gas operators who are looking for cost-effective treatment of water used in drilling and hydro-fracturing,” said Marc Rowland. “The company’s unique blend of water treatment technologies and software automation is a winning approach for this industry.”

Omni Water Solutions offers the HIPPO® mobile unit for oilfield water treatment. These systems come equipped with the company’s patent-pending OctoZoneTM technology, providing real-time sense and respond automation that enables oil and gas operators to treat and re-use produced water at a lower cost with more consistent results. After treatment through the platform, the water can be re-used in subsequent wells instead of lost to disposal.

Texas Railroad Commission permit allows for water treatment services in all Texas shale plays

Austin, TX – January 07, 2013 – Omni Water Solutions, Inc., a provider of highly automated mobile water systems for water treatment and re-use, has received a statewide permit by the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) to operate commercial water recycling units in all Texas shale plays. The permit enables the company to deploy mobile water treatment services to the Permian and Eagle Ford shales for several large independent operators to use in commercial operations early this year.

“We received this permit after demonstrating to the Texas Railroad Commission our unique ability to effectively recycle a variety of flowback and produced waters from across the state, as well as our capacity to continuously monitor and control our output water quality,” said Billy Roberts, Director of Research and Design for Omni Water Solutions. “Omni’s ability to provide an audit trail of that quality provides assurances to both the operator and the RRC that our treated product is optimized for re-use in future well-completion activities.”

Omni Water Solutions offers the HIPPOTM platform for frac’ing operations. These mobile units come equipped with the company’s patent-pending OctoZoneTM technology, a real-time sense and respond automation system that enables oil and gas operators to treat and re-use produced water at a lower cost with more consistent results. After treatment through the platform, the water can be re-used in subsequent wells instead of lost to disposal.

“Oil and gas operators are choosing Omni because our mobile water treatment platforms can produce both fresh water and clean brine at prices that compete with transport and disposal fees,” said Warren Sumner, CEO of Omni Water Solutions. “Obtaining this permit was a crucial step in rolling out our platforms and services for operators this year.”

Here’s a quick excerpt:

For over 20 years, ATI has had the privilege of working with some of the most innovative start-ups in the country. We asked several to look back at their time with ATI and share their experiences in a project we’ve called Member Company Spotlight. We hope their insight will help future start-ups achieve the same success (or avoid similar pitfalls) as our accomplished member companies.

What was the inspiration for your company?

The inspiration for Omni was drawn from our CTO Wayne Wolf’s deep passion and extensive experience for finding and developing innovative water treatment solutions. Water is a precious resource of ours and we have to find efficient ways to treat it and reuse it. Since Omni was started, we have assembled an extremely talented team of individuals who all share this vision and are focused on providing the best technology possible to meet these needs.

Texas Railroad Commission permit allows for water treatment services in shale play

Austin, TX – July 09, 2012 – Omni Water Solutions, Inc., a provider of highly automated mobile water systems for water treatment and re-use, has been granted a permit by the Railroad Commission of Texas to operate commercial water recycling units in the Eagle Ford Shale. The permit, effective immediately, enables the company to provide mobile water treatment services to oil and gas companies who are utilizing hydro-fracturing techniques in the area.

“Obtaining this operating permit was a critical milestone for our company,” said Warren Sumner, CEO of Omni Water Solutions. “We look forward to providing our customers with a cost-effective solution that offers a consistent water quality to support their completion plans and conserve water throughout the Eagle Ford Shale play.”

“Omni’s platform validated the treatment objectives set for the Eagle Ford Shale permit,” said Billy Roberts, Director of Research and Design for Omni Water Solutions. “Our technology and our company are now well positioned to achieve permitting in other shale plays in the State of Texas.”

Austin, TX – April 09, 2012 – Omni Water Solutions, Inc., an emerging technology company focused on delivering a unique software and hardware approach for mobile water treatment and re-use, has accelerated its growth trajectory by being a portfolio company of the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI), a not-for-profit unit of the IC2 Institute of The University of Texas at Austin (UT). Since joining ATI in mid-2011, Omni Water Solutions has collaborated with ATI on several fronts including funding, market research and connecting with key professionals driving energy finance, regulation and best practices.

“We are excited to be working with Omni Water Solutions,” said Mitch Jacobson, Co-Director of ATI Clean Energy. “Omni’s technology offers such a unique solution for water treatment and is a testament to the clean energy innovation potential that can be found in central Texas. Warren and his team have been great to work with and we are incredibly optimistic about Omni’s future success.”

ATI has played a pivotal role in helping the company establish relationships in the investment community. In addition, ATI has also assisted the company in gaining exposure at various events including the Clean Energy Venture Summit, which Omni won in September of 2011. The incubator, in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin, has also provided resources for the company to perform extensive market research on shale play economics, competitors and emerging best practices in water re-use for oil and gas operations.

“ATI’s leadership is very well connected and can help us get to the right people and resources that give us an advantage,” said Warren Sumner, CEO of Omni Water Solutions. “Their history of success with new technology ventures speaks for itself and we look forward to continuing our beneficial relationship.”
